OGAE SONG CONTEST 2002 - IRELAND QUALIFYING HEAT
John Walsh
Now fully established, the Irish pre-selection had a record number of entries, but perhaps it was a case of quantity over quality. The feeling was very much that Celtic music could do it for Ireland after the success of 2001, with 3 of the top 5 songs being Celtic in style. The powerful Celtic song Strong Enough, was just not strong enough to emerge from the crowd in the final in France.
