The Irish selection took the form of a Pop Idol talent show called You’re A Star. The last 4 singers were eliminated over a number of nights. The winning song was re-titled We’ve Got Tonight to lessen its similarity with Fly On The Wings Of Love.
2004 - The second You’re A Star had a similar knock-out style with the men proving to be more popular than the women. Chris Doran one with a song written by Brian McFadden who took the opportunity of his win to leave Westlife.
